A few random thoughts on things I’m doing, not doing and plan to do soon.
As I think I’ve already mentioned, I’m currently recovering from MPFL reconstruction surgery, which basically means that a surgeon rearranges the ligaments around your knee and makes it ten times worse than it was in the first place.
Physically, I’m starting to recover well, though it’s been a long, slow process. Mentally and emotionally, I’m not doing so great, and for reasons that I can’t understand, I’ve become burdened with fear, anxiety, severe panic attacks and several forays into depression.
I’m dealing with it as best I can, and recounting my experiences in a new blog I’ve started called After Surgery Anxiety: Dealing with post-surgery anxiety and depression.
As a result of all this, I haven’t had much time to work on the new website for OneCo Creative, my digital and content marketing business that I hoped to have up and running by now.
Still, I’m optimistic that we’ll turn that around sooner rather than later, and I can’t wait to show you.
Here’s an idea I want to work on at some point in the future: Spoken word recordings of poems from Bob Dylan’s Tarantula.
I’m not the first person to have this idea, and I won’t be the last. Youtube is full of folks putting their own unique take on Dylan’s weird and wonderful words, but I’d like to have a go too. Partly, I want to do it because I’m a huge Bob Dylan fan and enjoyed Tarantula a lot. Partly, I want to do it because I haven’t done any spoken word stuff for ages, and I miss it. Mostly though, I want to do it because I find the idea of Dylan’s lyrics being read out in a North England accent pretty funny.
We’ll see how that goes though.
